Architect, James Wagman, designed this built-in entertainment unit that folds the TV into itself when it's not being viewed.
Designer, Kelly Giesen, is responsible for this genius, built-in idea.
Rather than mounting the TV above the mantel, she built it into the non-operable fireplace, at a more ideal viewing height. It is also much less noticeable.
She did it again in a bedroom and added a beautiful mirrored screen to conceal the TV when not in use.
This idea is definitely my favorite.
Don't like to look at the TV when it's not on? Install something in front of it, that slides away when its viewing time.
Even a vintage map does the trick.
